Pittullie holiday
cottage is located on the coast of Galloway, looking south over
the Solway Firth, 5 miles from Dalbeattie. The surrounding area
is widely considered to be one of the most picturesque in
Scotland and is now designated a 'National Scenic Area'.
The self-catering holiday cottage forms part of Barcloy Mill,
near Castle Point, and has a view of Rockcliffe's Bay, just a
quarter of a mile away It was originally a water mill, later a
farm and built from locally quarried red sandstone in the 18th
century. Pittullie is a conversion of one of the barns to
provide a very high standard of Self Catering holiday
accommodation amidst a peaceful tranquil setting. With a
secluded garden on the private side and the mill courtyard on
the other, the cottage has stunning views over estuary of the
River Urr and is an excellent base to explore the lesser known
jewel in Scotland's crown. |

We furnished and equipped Pittullie holiday cottage to make our
own holidays as relaxing and easy as possible for ourselves, so
it should have everything you need. It is furnished in a clean,
uncluttered modern style with comfort as the main factor. There
are three bedrooms, two doubles and one twin, and bed linen is
provided throughout. All the bedrooms have the view to the sea.
There are two bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs.
The south westerly aspect ensures that the sunshine comes in all
day, making the whole house bright, sunny and warm. If our
micro-climate should fail and you watch a spectacular
south-westerly gale from the same windows, our very efficient
oil central heating will keep the temperature cosy.
There is a telephone for incoming calls only.
