By Bus
There are buses roughly every hour to and from Dumfries and
Rockcliffe. The bus goes from down by the bay on the Rockcliffe
sea front, but there is a bus stop nearer the end of Barcloy
Road. It is run by Stagecoach and you will need to check their
timetables for details. |

By Train
The nearest convenient station is Dumfries. If you are
collecting or dropping someone off and you have a car, it may be
more satisfactory to use Carlisle, which is only another 30-45
minutes on and has a much wider range of connections. Some
trains also go through Lockerbie, eg for Edinburgh. |

By Car
See the map for road numbers and the general shape of the
journey. From Dumfries follow the signs for Dalbeattie and then
follow the signs for the Solway Coast. When you get to Colvend,
the shop is on your left just before the village hall. There is
also a mini-tourist office there. Then return to the Rockcliffe
turning, which you have just passed and follow the Rockcliffe
road; after the Church take the first left, called Barcloy Road;
at the bottom, before the brae, turn left and then immediately
right into the Mill courtyard. Pittullie is on your right. |

By Air
The airports at Glasgow, Edinburgh and Prestwick (Ayr) are
almost equidistant. If driving from any of these the journey
would take something like 2 ½ hours. |
